Robert Douglas Memorial School’s Parent Council was officially formed on the 27th August 2007 and we are now just about to start our third year of planning, fundraising and curriculum support - and hopefully enjoy the opportunity to meet other parents and have a bit of fun as well.

Our officers have all been re-elected for next session, which starts in August 2009, and there are contact details for them within the site. Please get in touch if you’d like further information. The majority have children in more than one class and age-group so will have a broad view of goings on within the school and are all happy to be approached personally if you have any queries.

Like RDM School itself, we have an open door policy for our Council - you are most welcome to attend our meetings as we are keen to have input from as many parents as possible and we’ll actively be looking to you for ideas and support for our events and campaigns.

Although we all work together on various projects we presently have separate small groups to handle communications, fund-raising and social events, and matters concerning the curriculum. so please CHECK BACK REGULARLY TO THIS SITE and look on school notice boards to keep up with whats going on. You don't have to commit to coming to every meeting, or to take part in every activity that is planned, just come along, see who we are and what we do and choose to take part in whichever bit interests you!

In addition we would love to have contact details of parents who have a particular skill, be it football, first aid, forestry or fundraising, who would be happy to be approached to help out from time to time, so please do come forward and make yourself known.
